From steak on the coals to bugs in the pan, Cole’s Cuisine turns outdoor cooking into an adventure.
Fire, flavor, and a dash of sarcasm — campfire style with Skinny and Cole — welcome to the wild kitchen. Real fire, real food, and a few laughs along the way.
Who cooks most when camping? Who’s in charge of the barbecue?
Traditionally, that right goes to the man. Not because we think we’re better cooks, but because it’s the only time most ladies let us put on our manly aprons and show off our culinary expertise!
Contrary to popular belief, men can cook—and, dare I say, we want to cook the foods we crave. Virile souls, you’ve come to the right place.
Welcome to Cole’s (Coals) Cuisine!
The place to pick up tips (steak preferably) for cooking over open flame, embers, charcoal, propane, or any other way you can heat food in the wild. Here, we hang out, share ideas, and maybe even learn how to cook manly meals without taking over the kitchen. Sometimes a guy just needs to cook an awesome meal to show his gal that he can provide in a non-invasive way. Once you give her a good reason to head into the woods, she’ll (probably) want to go camping more often. Win!
Besides, what better way to show appreciation for all she does? Take the reins, do the cooking, and make camping fun again—or at least comfortable enough that she wants to come back. Sounds like work? Sure. But ask yourself:
“What’s sex on a camping trip like?”
Simple answer: “It’s f***ing in tents!” (Intense, for those who missed the pun.)
Either way—win-win!
With that thought in mind, welcome to Cole’s Camping Cuisine—where we’ll cook on open fire, camp stove, or grill, and yes, even learn how to cook for her at home (gasp!). We’ll explore dehydrated and freeze-dried foods, canned goods, pre-prepped meals, wild edibles, and yes… bugs. Don’t worry, there’ll also be “normal” camp favorites: hobo meals, first-night leftovers, and, of course, steak—medium-rare only! Anything more is a crime against flavor.
Food should be fun. Why suffer through dry, tasteless camp grub when you could relax and eat real food that fuels your adventures?
As with everything at Skinny’s 411, this section’s still in development until the studio’s complete—but the goal is to make it an ongoing series:
Outdoors with Skinny! meets Cooking with Cole!
We’ll dig into the best foods for camping trips—high in protein, carbs, and fiber—to keep you fueled, healthy, and happy on the trail or water. Expect real-world tests, tips on using dehydrators, seasoning tricks, and packing methods for every adventure style—backpack, bikepack, canoe, or car.
This isn’t revolutionary stuff—it’s old-school knowledge served with a side of sarcasm. I pull ideas from multiple sources, test them, tweak them, and bring you the results on video. You could do the same, but it’s more fun when we do it together.
So, grab a brew (also a fine cooking ingredient), fire up the stove, and get ready to learn a few new tricks.
Here’s a sample of what’s coming soon:
Dehydrated foods: how to make and use them on the trail
Prepackaged meals: what’s worth buying—and how to make them better
Canned food magic: creating gourmet meals with a can and a plan
Steak night: real fire, real flavor, real fun
